Introducing the Shootout

The Shootout is targeted toward Practitioners, for Vendors, hosted by and presented by Vendors.  The intent is to create a platform where the Vendor community is able to demonstrate how they individually (or specifically) contribute to the overarching needs of the IT Management community.

The day will be divided into 4 main presentation windows; 3 of these being the Vendor ShootOuts and one being the keynote presentation.  Each Shootout will be a 60 minute window broken into two 20 minute presentation slots and a 20 minute Q&A session.  Each Vendor will be able to present their wares, ideas, concepts, beliefs to the audience around one of the topics listed in the topic section.  The Q&A session will allow the audience to pose questions giving both presenters the opportunity to respond.

3 of the 7 sessions based on a first filled basis, i.e., both vendor slots must be filled. The first 3 slots filled will be utilized at the event.

Each vendor will only be permitted to present / host one Shoot-Out.

We are requesting presentations around the following topics:

  • How do I  bring Operations and Development closer together, how do I realise the promise of Release Managamenet?

  • I am still struggling with Configuration Management.  Federation, Universal, logical, conceptual, distributed, central, and now a Configuration Management System . . . what on earth?

  • I am at the stage of understanding my IT operation and have been tasked to investigate charging for services.  I am not sure if I should actually charge, publish or use for budgets, help.

  • My program has been running for a while now, how do I execute ITIL's Continual Service Improvement?

  • I have been tasked to merge in business Demand with Operational Service Requests.  How do I separate application enhancements from operational disciples without complicating the change and release cycles?

  • What's in IT business Information, Operational Datawarehousing, IT Intelligence?
